6 Months

Our sweet Maizy is now over 6 months old, and is so much fun to be around.  She is so much more independent than she was even 3 weeks ago.  She's not quite crawling, so I can leave her in the living room with a bucket of toys while I wash dishes or cook dinner, and she stays entertained.  She rolls over to get around, and scoots using her feet.  Her favorite things to do are: read books, play catch with a ball, and eat.  She is getting chunky (in the most adorable way) and is in the 62nd percentile for both height and weight.  She is truly the nicest, sweetest girl, and loves to be around people and make new friends.  She babbles, laughs, and screams every day, which totally melts my heart.  We have put a lot of her "baby" stuff away, which is so hard to do:(  Her first tooth popped through yesterday, which was a surprise to me, as I thought she would be crabbier as it happened.
As we approach the 2 year anniversary of Savannah and Charlie's short lives, I have been training to run a 5k in their honor to support local nonprofit group "Our Miracle Babies."  If any of you would like to join my team, please do!  I am a very slow runner, but intend to finish either way.  To register, follow this link, and join the team "Klassen Dube Angels."

I'll put in a few fun pictures from the last few weeks.

5.5

Maizy is now five and a half months old.  Her personality shines through more and more each day. She really is a sweet, fun, smiley girl.  It's been so much fun so watch her grow and become more explorative in these last few weeks.

When Maizy was just under 2 months old, she had really good neck control, and her pediatrician told us that she was ready for a jumperoo type activity center.  I bought one for $25.00 off of Craigslist to be sure she would like it before we spent a small fortune on a new one.  At 2 months, she was much too small, and wobbly to be in it unattended.  We actually sewed some extra padding together and added it to the front, but she did like it.  One of us would sit right in front of her for 2-3 minutes, until she was ready to come out.  Now, at over 5 months, I don't know what we would do without it!  She loves this thing, and would bounce for hours on end if we would let her.

Maizy is sitting up pretty well, has no interest in crawling, babbles and talks nonstop, loves to be outside, and really loves stroller and bike rides.  Aaron takes her for a ride in her bike trailer every day, (weather permitting) and she sings, squeals, and chats the whole time.  She is getting really chunky, still has very little hair, and is still the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

The local newspaper wrote a story about Maizy's journey for Mother's Day:

Lady L and her family are doind well, and are excited to spend some extra time together camping this summer.  They really are a terrific family.
I'll add a few pictures from this last month:
