A few of my friends have asked me why I haven't posted anything in over a year. I am very sorry, and didn't realize that anyone would still be interested enough to check this blog anymore. Then I looked back and need to apologize for leaving you hanging if you didn't know that everything turned out beautifully with the pregnancy.
Layla was born with very few complications on March 18, 2014, and life has been a whirlwind ever since. She is now almost 14 months old, and is a very sweet, happy baby, just as Maizy was. Yes, WAS, sigh. Maizy is now a very feisty, independent 2 year old, who melts and breaks my heart every single day. She constantly tells me "No, I do it myself, Mommy!" which of course makes me proud and happy she can do so many things, but makes me weepy that she needs me for less and less.
I went into Babies R Us today to grab a few summer outfits for Layla (the one downfall of having babies 15 months apart- not always the same season) and I almost cried as I left. Before Maizy was born, I spent time there, figuring out which was the best stroller/carseat combo, getting diapers, formula, nursery items, etc. My days there are numbered. I have been there only a handful of times in the last 9 months, and I am very, very sad about how fast my babies are growing. Of course I was warned of this by every parent I know, but, it's truly the most bittersweet feeling ever. I get very nostalgic for newborns. I know that our family is complete, and I am positive I will not have anymore children, but looking back at videos and pictures of both girls can be tough. I wish it could just slow down a little bit. I'll add pictures soon.
Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts- we hope everything is going well for all of you!
